Exclusion Zone

Exclusion Zone is a zombie action survival game inspired by Resident Evil, created as a retro-style de-make in just two weeks for the Made With Defold Jam 2025. While fighting zombies with weapons you uncover is the main focus, exploration and careful inventory management play a big role. For players who want a different challenge, the game even allows a non-violent run, though it’s not easy to pull off.

As players move through different areas, they’ll discover equipment either out in the open or tucked away in containers. Limited inventory space means items must be managed wisely, and extra gear can be stored in item boxes when needed. Progress is saved at blue cassette recorders, so finding them becomes part of the strategy.

A full playthrough usually takes around 15–30 minutes, keeping the experience short but replayable. The game can be played quickly and for free online right in the browser, with no installation required. Controls are simple on both keyboard and Xbox controller, with clear inputs for movement, combat, examining, inventory, and pausing.

Exclusion Zone keeps the classic survival horror feel while remaining compact and accessible for modern players.
