Deviled Dice: A Roguelite Strategy Game Where You Cheat the Devil
Deviled Dice is a strategy roguelite dice game that challenges players to beat the devil at his own cursed board game. You have to outsmart him by breaking the rules, building powerful combos, and risking your soul to secure a win.
The setup throws you straight into a high-stakes duel over a mysterious tabletop game found in an old basement. The devil is your opponent, and he hates losing. Win a single round, and he immediately starts cheating. He hikes up the required score and twists the core rules to guarantee his victory. Playing fair gets you nowhere here. To survive the run, you have to cheat right back.
Players manipulate their odds by collecting forbidden relics. These items let you bend the mechanics and physically customize your score sheet. It pushes you to test your luck further with every attempt. The core loop fuses the classic scoring logic of Yacht with the heavy combo-building elements seen in modern deckbuilders. This creates a highly strategic system that actively rewards finding broken interactions.
Juicy Beast developed the game, recently releasing this demo to experiment with their fresh take on dice mechanics. They built the project in Unity and wrapped the entire experience in a mid-century cartoon aesthetic. The visual style pulls more weight than you’d expect for a standard dice roller. Smooth animations and vintage character designs give the cursed board game a very specific, eerie charm.
And the difficulty ramps up fast. Boss encounters—like the policeman or the wolf—introduce unique obstacles that force players to completely rethink their setup. You might face modifiers where white dice are suddenly scored as red dice, completely ruining your standard math. Surviving these rule twists requires careful relic placement and a willingness to constantly adapt. There are even hints of hidden lore sprinkled throughout the run for those paying close attention to the background details.
