Friday Night Funkin’: Sweet Licorice is rhythm game where players take part in a singing face-off between two couples. Boyfriend and Girlfriend start out on a quiet picnic by the lake, but their break quickly turns into another challenge when two mysterious cat-headed characters appear, ready to test their musical skills. It’s a familiar setup for anyone who knows the Friday Night Funkin’ series—music battles, timing, and rhythm are what decide who wins.

Each round has two main sections with vocals and samples inspired by songs from artists like Evanescence and Vylet Pony, blended into the game’s own style. Players might also catch a few subtle references to Deltarune buried in the lyrics.
