Keep on Mining: A Idle Mining Game

Keep on Mining is an incremental idle mining game where players break rocks, gather ores, and upgrade their gear to build an automated resource engine. The browser-based progression system starts with active interaction and gradually shifts into hands-off automation.

At first, the gameplay relies entirely on mouse movement. You hover your cursor over rocks to break them apart and collect the raw ores that drop out. Simple. The visual feedback of the rocks crumbling actually carries more weight than you’d expect for a browser title. Different rock types yield completely different materials, keeping the early game focused on discovering new resources.

Those raw ores don’t just sit in your inventory. Players convert them into material bars, which act as the main currency for a skill tree system. Spending these bars unlocks permanent stat boosts that increase your base mining power and improve drop rates. And you aren’t just tweaking abstract numbers—you also craft physical pickaxes. Each new tier of pickaxe speeds up the breaking process so you can chew through stronger rocks much faster.

Every time you level up, the game hands you talent points used to reveal random talent cards. Picking one gives you a specific bonus. Here’s where it gets interesting. These cards also raise the difficulty of the rocks spawning on your screen, so you have to balance your upgrades against the scaling challenge. Eventually, you unlock a feature called The Mine. This handles the actual idle mechanics by automatically mining rocks and crafting materials while you step away from the keyboard entirely.
