RAM Idle 2: A Incremental Simulation
Download RAM Idle 2 is a story-driven incremental simulation game where players manage system resources to execute network hacks and uncover a massive conspiracy. You constantly upgrade hardware and manage complex prestiges while progressing through a surprisingly dark narrative.
Most idle games just want you to watch numbers go up. Luis0413 took a different approach with this Unity project by wrapping a classic clicker loop around an actual thriller. You and your in-game partner stumble across a suspicious website. Testing out a new exploit by hacking a few random computers seems harmless enough at first. Then things take a sharp turn. The plot gets weirdly tense for a simple browser game—it genuinely feels like you should lock your doors while poking around the mysterious system files.
Progression runs at a fast pace. New mechanics filter in steadily so you aren’t just staring at the exact same interface for hours on end. Hitting the final screen takes roughly five hours of active play. You can lean on offline progress to soften the grind, but actively managing your setup definitely speeds things up.
You have to push through two full prestige layers to reach the conclusion. This requires optimizing different resource branches. Unlocking chipsets helps push your numbers higher. Even then, you will likely hit sudden roadblocks where SPU generation completely stalls out.
And there are a few surprises hidden in the menus. The standard number-crunching gets broken up by unexpected detours, like a mining minigame where you hunt for aquamarine inside purple rocks. Figuring out which layers actually hold the right materials takes a bit of trial and error. Players often have to experiment with different S-Branch unlocks for the late-game push. It proves the math here is tight enough to require actual strategy instead of just mindless clicking. If you want to keep your progress across different devices, cloud saving works directly through Galaxy and Newgrounds.
Game Controls
Moving through the menus relies heavily on standard mouse clicks or touchscreen taps. But if you want to optimize your speed, you need to use the keyboard hotkeys to manage resets and tabs.
- C – Triggers a CPU reset
- S – Activates an SPU reset
- R or F – Cycles through your open tabs
- M – Maxes out all available purchases in the GHz tab
- 1 + F – Displays your current frames per second
As always, remember to have fun!
