Drowning Cross is a point-and-click exploration game where players take on the role of Jeremy, who starts digging into the past of his partner Leo after a car crash leaves more questions than answers. The deeper Jeremy looks, the stranger the night becomes, mixing personal drama with mysterious and possibly supernatural elements.
The game is designed in the style of classic adventure titles from the late ’90s, with familiar features like collecting items, choosing dialogue options, and piecing together clues. Players even carry around “thoughts” alongside objects in the inventory, which can be used in conversations and situations throughout the story.
There are more than 30 detailed areas to investigate, over a dozen characters to talk to, and two different endings to discover depending on your choices. The story includes some mature themes, but it avoids frustrating dead ends that older point-and-click games were known for. It also offers a retro visual style in 320×180 resolution, with options to adjust the look if you prefer a slightly smoother display.
