Pool Merge: A Billiards Puzzle Game

Pool Merge is an arcade puzzle game that blends standard billiard physics with the number-crunching mechanics of 2048. Players shoot numbered balls across a virtual felt table to combine identical values, score points, and keep the board from overflowing.

Developed by Mirra Games, this title forces you to think a few moves ahead. The physics engine handles bounces off walls and other balls much like real pool. And that means a single well-aimed shot can easily set off a massive chain reaction.

The main draw is managing space. In Classic mode, the goal is simple survival. You have to plan your shots carefully because if the table fills up, it’s game over. That said, the game throws you a lifeline. Every time you unlock a new ball level, the maximum capacity of the playing field goes up. It becomes a balancing act between aggressively merging balls and keeping enough board space open to line up your next move.

Arcade mode shifts the focus entirely. Instead of stressing over board space, you fight the clock. Pockets actually become hazards here. If a ball drops into a hole, you lose precious seconds. Merging them is the only way to add time back. This setup forces a much faster, riskier style of play where you really can’t afford to sit around calculating the perfect bank shot.

The collision physics carry more weight than you might expect for a casual puzzle game. Bouncing a shot off the rail to hit two distant targets feels genuinely rewarding.
