Doki Doki! RainClouds is a horror and drama visual novel mod for Doki Doki Literature Club! created by Paul Chartres. It retells the first act of the original game, but entirely through Sayori’s point of view. Instead of just being a side character, players experience her daily struggles, the weight she carries, and the small moments that still bring her comfort. The story leads up to the festival, leaving players questioning whether things will play out differently this time.
The project was completed quickly, with development lasting about a month. It was first announced on January 28, 2018, and released soon after on February 23. Earlier concerns about asset credits have since been settled, allowing players to focus on the narrative itself.
