FNF Hazier River Mod: Faithful Garcello Remake with Erect and Pico Remixes

FNF Hazier River is a rhythm game mod for Friday Night Funkin’ that remakes the original Hazy River with new art, animation, and remixed tracks. The mod stays loyal to the Garcello formula while adding ERECT and Pico versions of its two main songs.

Players who grew up with the Smoke ‘Em Out Garcello mod will recognize the tone right away. Same sad atmosphere. Same slow build into something heavier. The story beats land where you’d expect them to, and that’s part of the appeal.

What’s New in Hazier River

The remake bundles a fair amount of fresh content on top of the original framework. Art and animation have been redrawn from scratch, and the original OST gets faithful remixes that don’t stray from the source mood. The two headline songs, Headache and Nerves, both get ERECT versions and Pico remixes, which doubles the playtime if you’re going for the full week.

New events also show up during gameplay—small touches that change how scenes play out. One detail stands out: Garcello visibly misses his notes whenever he coughs. It shouldn’t hit as hard as it does. Somehow it still makes you nervous.

Songs and Difficulty

The Erect remixes and Pico’s final track carry the mod. Notes speed up in ways that keep you locked in, especially during the closing stretch. The chart isn’t punishing though. Most players will clear it without grinding retries, which feels intentional given the emotional weight of the story.

The full week runs through Headache, Nerves, their Erect versions, and the Pico mixes of both. A secret cutscene waits at the end for anyone curious enough to stick around.
