Don’t Chicken Out
Don’t Chicken Out: The Hilarious Egg-Balancing Platformer
Don’t Chicken Out is a precision platformer where players balance an egg between two chickens while flying through seven hand-crafted biomes filled with brutal challenges. It’s weird, it’s punishing, and it’s way more fun than it sounds.
What Is Don’t Chicken Out?
The concept is simple but ridiculous. Two chickens. One egg. Don’t drop it. Players guide their wobbly chicken duo upward through a massive vertical world, trying to keep everything together while the game throws increasingly absurd obstacles in the way. It’s the kind of setup that sounds like a joke until you’re twenty minutes in, genuinely stressed about an egg.
A World That Keeps Changing
There are seven distinct biomes to fly through — farm, city, jungle, himalayas, cathedral, hell, and the galaxy. Each one looks completely different and brings its own set of challenges. The art style is colorful and hand-crafted, giving every area a personality of its own. This is a demo version, it wont include all 7 stages. You can wishlist Don’t Chicken Out on Steam right now for the full release.
The difficulty shifts with each biome too. What works in the jungle won’t save you in hell. Players need to adapt fast or watch that egg shatter over and over again.
Built for Speed (If You’re Good Enough)
A built-in speedrun timer and leaderboards give the game serious replay value. The developer’s own high score sits at 6 minutes and 15 seconds. Most players won’t come close to that on their first dozen attempts. But that target hanging there? It’s hard to ignore.
Local Co-op on the Same Screen
Players can tackle the whole thing with a friend in local 2-player mode on the same computer. Coordinating egg balance with another person adds a whole new layer of chaos—and blame.
Why It Works
Don’t Chicken Out pulls off something tricky. It’s genuinely funny without relying on that humor to carry weak gameplay. The controls are tight enough that every failure feels earned. And the difficulty, while brutal, never feels cheap. Each biome teaches you something new, and the progression from farm to galaxy gives the whole run a satisfying arc.
