Sonic Robo Blast 2 Kart (SRB2 Kart)
SRB2Kart: Classic-Style Sonic Kart Racing Game with 100 Tracks
SRB2Kart is a classic-style kart racing game packed with colorful tracks, chaotic items, and a strong Sonic twist. The game leans into the charm of the old-school Sonic era, blending fast-paced racing with the kind of nostalgic visual flair longtime fans recognize instantly.
One hundred maps come loaded into the package—everything from sunny beaches to Eggman’s neon dance floor to a stretch of countryside that looks suspiciously like England on a rare sunny afternoon. Different creators built each one, and that variety shows. No two tracks feel copy-pasted.
The Sonic DNA runs deep here. Items like the Ballhog, which lobs bouncing explosive balls at whoever’s unlucky enough to be near, pull straight from the spirit of the classic games. Even the level design carries that signature Sonic energy—loops of color, weird hazards, and a sense of momentum baked into every corner.
Game Modes
Players get two main modes to pick from: Race and Battle.
Race is the standard kart experience. Beat your opponents to the finish, weave through traffic, and time your items right. Sometimes that means firing a perfect shot. Other times it means panicking because something nasty is closing in behind you.
Battle flips the energy entirely. The goal is to chuck spikeballs at other players until they lose all their bumpers—and you keep yours. It can get personal fast. A friend who just lost their last bumper might come hunting for revenge. Or, if they’re feeling generous, they might toss you a powered-up item chance instead.
Cups and Progression
Players start with a small selection of cups unlocked. The rest open up by playing matches—online or offline, either works. For anyone who wants to skip the grind and test their skills directly, Staff Attack mode lets you race against the developers themselves. Fair warning: they don’t always go easy.
Bonus Characters
The main download comes with a file called bonuschars.kart. It’s not active by default, but flipping it on through the add-ons menu unlocks a long list of extra racers. A few of the developers built these in their off hours, with help from community artists. It’s a nice bonus that adds some personality without forcing it on everyone.
Quality of Life Features
SRB2Kart adds some helpful upgrades over the vanilla experience. Multi-admin support makes server management less of a headache. The chat system is actually readable—a small thing that matters more than you’d think during chaotic lobbies. Need help? The in-game manual is always one button away.
Modding documentation is still thin right now. The team has acknowledged it and plans to expand it down the line.

Items:
![]() Item |
||
|---|---|---|
| Sneakers | ![]() |
Grants the user a boost of speed that allows them to cross over offroad sections with relative ease or quickly recover from a crash. Comes in single and triple varieties. In Battle Mode, hitting another player with a Sneaker charge will steal a bumper from them. |
| Rocket Sneakers | ![]() |
A version of the Sneakers that lets the user gain a speed boost as long as it is active. The meter depletes gradually over time and with each use, so careful timing is key to get the most use out of this item. Race Mode only. |
| Banana | ![]() |
A staple of any kart racer, these can be laid out on the track to slip up other racers. Comes in single, triple and 10x varieties. |
| Orbinaut | ![]() |
Spiraling spike balls for protection, which can be fired ahead or behind to hit other players, and can bounce off of walls. Comes in single, triple and quadruple varieties. |
| Jawz | ![]() |
A shark-like missile that locks on to the nearest player and chases them from behind. Comes in single and double varieties. |
| Invincibility | ![]() |
When used, the user becomes completely invulnerable to harm and is given a boost in speed for a short period of time. They can also ram into other players and drive on offroad. |
| Hyudoro | ![]() |
Steals an item from a random player and temporarily turns the user invisible, making them invulnerable to harm and allowing them to drive on offroad. |
| Grow | ![]() |
Makes the user grow twice their size and allows them to squish any players they run into. The user is also invulnerable to harm, but will still drive slower on offroad. |
| Shrink | ![]() |
Shrinks every player in front of the user and forces them to drop their items. Shrunk players can be squished by other larger players. Race Mode only. |
| Ballhog | ![]() |
Fires 5 bombs that bounce off of walls in a spread out pattern. |
| Pogo Spring | ![]() |
Causes the user to jump high into the air, making it a great tool to quickly get out of danger. If the user lands on another player, they will steal a bumper from them. Battle Mode only. |
| Kitchen Sink | ![]() |
When thrown, it will instantly kill whoever it touches and display a message saying who was hit by it. This item has a 1 in 64 chance of appearing after using a Hyudoro. |
| Eggman Monitor | ![]() |
It’s a fake! Picking it up after it has been placed will cause the user to drop their current item and activate a 3-second countdown leading to an explosion. Pressing the Item button will trigger the explosion early, and other players can be caught in the blast. |
| Mine | ![]() |
When thrown, it will become active once it touches the ground. Any players that get close to it while active will cause it to explode, and it can be kicked around before it activates. |
| Self-Propelled Bomb | ![]() |
Also known as SPBs, these bombs will target and pursue the player in first place when thrown, exploding upon contact with them. Unlike similar items in other kart racers, it’s entirely possible to avoid it for an entire race with skillful and careful driving. Race Mode only. |
| Thunder Shield | ![]() |
A shield that automatically forms once obtained and sends out a thunderclap when triggered. Any players caught in the blast will be spun out, and it can also be used to destroy a Self-Propelled Bomb. Race Mode only. |
Characters:
SRB2Kart features 5 characters available in the base game, as well as an additional 30 in the included add-on. Up to 128 characters (including the base game characters) can be added to the game at once through the use of add-ons. Characters are automatically balanced according to two stats with values between 1 and 9: speed and weight. A high speed stat lets the player reach faster speeds at the expense of worse acceleration, and a high weight stat makes it easier for the player to push others around with less handling and wider drifts as a trade-off. In addition, a character’s speed and weight will directly affect how fast they build up drift sparks: a slower, heavier character (i.e. Dr. Eggman) will build up drift sparks much quicker than a faster, lighter character (i.e. Sonic).
