Flightless: Co-op Puzzle Platformer

Flightless is a puzzle-platformer about two ducks who lost their wings as punishment for theft and must clear their debt by gathering gems in dungeons. The twist: you can’t jump or fly. Your only tool is a magic ladder, and it does almost everything.

That ladder is the heart of the game. It smashes enemies, flips switches, bends around corners, slides through teleporters, and scoops up gems on its way. Every puzzle comes back to one question—where do you put the ladder? Simple idea. Surprisingly deep.

Built for Two Players (But Great Solo)

Flightless lets a second player drop in or out at any moment without pausing or restarting. You can split up and cover different parts of a dungeon, or team up on puzzles that need two heads. The drop-in system even doubles as a teleport, since joining snaps players together. It’s a small touch that saves a lot of backtracking.

Puzzles That Respect Your Time

The level design doesn’t force you to solve everything. Stuck on a tough puzzle? Skip it and keep moving. Completionists can chase every gem on the map instead, and hidden rooms hold extra-hard challenges for players who go looking. The full game also adds teleportation to save points across the map—a feature not included in the demo.

Puzzles split between thinking challenges and action challenges, so the pacing shifts as you play. And the controls stay simple throughout. The complexity lives in the world, not in your fingers, which makes the harder puzzles feel fair rather than fiddly.

One more thing worth saying: ladders in games are usually annoying. Here they’re the whole point, and they actually feel good to use.
