Slendytubbies 2
Slendytubbies II: Survival Horror Game
Slendytubbies II is a first-person survival horror game that drops players into the unsettling world of corrupted Teletubbies. Built as a direct sequel to the original Slendytubbies, the game expands the lore with new locations, multiplayer modes, and a darker atmosphere that pushes the franchise well past its meme-game roots.
The game was developed by ZeoWorks and released in 2014. It’s the second installment in the Slendytubbies series and remains one of the most recognized fan-horror titles inspired by the Slender Man mythos.
What the Game Is About
Players collect Tubby Custards scattered across various maps while avoiding hostile Teletubbies that hunt them down. Sounds simple. It isn’t. Each map throws different environmental hazards, lighting conditions, and enemy behaviors at the player, which keeps the tension high even after multiple runs.
The story leans into psychological horror more than its predecessor. There’s a real attempt at narrative here—something fans didn’t expect from a game starring corrupted children’s characters.
Game Modes
Slendytubbies II offers several modes that change how the horror unfolds. The standard Campaign mode walks players through the storyline across multiple chapters. Survival mode tests how long a player can last as enemies grow more aggressive. There’s also a multiplayer component that lets players cooperate or hunt each other down depending on the lobby setup.
The multiplayer mode was a major addition. It turned what could’ve been a one-and-done horror experience into something with replay value—and a community.
Atmosphere and Design
The visual style mixes bright, almost cartoonish character models with grim, decaying environments. That contrast is what makes the game work. A Teletubby looks harmless until it’s sprinting at you through a fog-soaked field at 2 AM in-game time.
Sound design pulls a lot of the weight. Distant giggles, distorted nursery audio, sudden silence—these are the cues players learn to fear. The horror doesn’t rely on jumpscares alone, which is rare for a fan game.
Maps and Locations
The game features a range of environments, from open fields and farms to enclosed indoor levels like schools and military bases. Each location demands a different strategy. Open maps test stealth and stamina management. Indoor ones force quick decisions in tight corridors.
Why It Matters
Slendytubbies II turned a niche horror parody into a legitimate indie franchise. The game inspired a third installment and a 3D remake, and its multiplayer scene stayed active for years after launch. For a free fan project, that kind of staying power is unusual.
The mix of nostalgia, dread, and unexpected polish is what keeps players coming back.
