Ducky Sokoban DX

Ducky Sokoban DX – Cute Box-Pushing Puzzles

Ducky Sokoban DX is a cozy puzzle game about pushing bread onto baskets. Fill every basket in a level and you win.

That’s the whole rule set, and it’s been enough to keep people busy since the original Sokoban. What’s different here is the presentation. Most Sokoban clients you’ll find are bare grids with plain squares. This one has pixel art, animation, and sound, and it makes a big difference when you’re staring at the same level for ten minutes.

How Do You Play Ducky Sokoban DX?

You move one square at a time. Floors and empty baskets you can walk over. Walls and bread you can’t.

Walk into a piece of bread and you push it, as long as there’s an open square behind it. You can only push, never pull. And only one loaf at a time. That’s where the puzzle lives. Shove a piece into a corner and it’s stuck there for good.

Each basket holds exactly one piece of bread. So it’s not just about getting bread moving, it’s about which loaf goes where.

The Level Packs

There are 23 packs built in, over 1000 puzzles total. They’re sorted with the gentler ones near the top. A few worth knowing about:

  • Intro. Start here if you’ve never touched Sokoban. It teaches the push rule and nothing else.
  • Sokoban Junior. Short, casual puzzles. Good for a few minutes at a time.
  • Microban. Tiny grids that still make you think. Small maps, sharp ideas.
  • Dimitri & Yorick. Another concise set, recommended for a relaxed run.

The rest climb toward genuinely mean. Some levels turn on spotting one shape and what it forces you to do. Others make you juggle six things at once.

Use the Rewind

You get 10,000 steps of rewind. Hold Z and the game walks itself backward.

This changes how you should play. Don’t sit there planning the perfect solution in your head. Try the idea, watch it fail, rewind to the moment before you broke it. Sokoban gets much friendlier when a mistake costs three seconds instead of a restart. If a level is truly wrecked, press R and start clean.

Ducky Sokoban DX was made by transmutrix and released in 2026. It’s a Sokoban client, meaning it reads level packs in the standard text format, so the puzzle library isn’t locked to what ships with it. Nice touch for a browser game.
