Description

“Asterix & Obelix XXL” is an action-adventure video game released in 2003 that follows the adventures of the beloved Gaulish heroes, Asterix and Obelix. The game begins on a seemingly ordinary day as the duo, accompanied by their dog Dogmatix, head into the forest to hunt wild boars. Suddenly, a storm hits, lightning strikes a tree, and Dogmatix, scared by the commotion, runs away. While searching for Dogmatix, Asterix and Obelix notice a fire in the distance. Asterix rushes to investigate and finds their village under attack by Romans.

At the village, Asterix encounters a disgruntled former Roman secret agent who has been dismissed by Caesar. The agent, seeking revenge, decides to assist Asterix and Obelix in thwarting the Roman plans. Meanwhile, Obelix continues the search for Dogmatix and eventually reunites with Asterix, though Dogmatix is still missing.

The secret agent informs them that the villagers have been kidnapped and are likely held on barges off the coast. As they follow the agent to a dock, they find Dogmatix and rescue him. Together, they battle through more Roman soldiers along the Gaulish countryside. Their journey leads them to a locked wagon containing the village druid, Getafix, who reveals that Caesar plans to disperse the Gaulish villagers across the Roman Empire. The locations of the villages were etched into a white marble map that Caesar destroyed.

With this information, Asterix, Obelix, and Dogmatix embark on a quest to rescue their fellow villagers and thwart Caesar’s plans, traveling to the locations previously inscribed on the now-shattered map. This epic adventure combines combat, strategy, and exploration, capturing the humor and spirit of the classic “Asterix” comics.
