Royal Stone (Game Gear)
Royal Stone is a Strategy game, developed and published by Sega, which was released in Japan in 1995.
It was only available in Japanese before. Now it had been translated into English.
Released late into the life of the Game Gear, this has got to be one of the prettiest titles for the console.
Royal Stone is a strategy/RPG for the Sega Game Gear. It follows the
career of a disgraced soldier as she attempts to clear her name and
save the world at the same time. The game’s plot is surprisingly grim
for its time.
Royal Stone is also the sequel to Crystal Warriors, also on the Game
Gear. It wears its heritage plainly on its sleeve – battles play out
the same way, enemies are still obscured by fog of war until either
fought or scanned, even the structure of the levels, difficulty
progression, and boss appearances is almost identical. That said, for
all the similarities, there are a huge number of improvements. Royal
Stone feels like the game Crystal Warriors wanted to be.
