Long ago, the islands of Marya faced a great disaster. During a stormy night, Mount Kaballa erupted, and a dark beast with shadowy wings emerged. This beast polluted the air, turning the rain purple and corrupting the land and animals into savage creatures. Three sacred guardians tried to stop it but were overpowered and fell under its control. Just when hope was fading, a majestic silver dragon named Lugia rose from the ocean. With a powerful roar and a flap of its wings, Lugia cleared the poisonous air and freed the guardians. Together, they defeated the beast and restored peace. Lugia then returned to the depths, promising to come back if needed. Today, Lugia is remembered as the Savior of Marya.

Story

You are a young trainer from another land who gets the chance to visit the tropical region of Marya. Professor Sheldon Palm invites you to help with his field research around the islands. You’ve arrived just in time for the Silverwing Festival, a yearly event honoring Lugia. Your journey takes you across the islands of Oranna, Lumine, and Minerva. You challenge gym leaders to qualify for the Silverwing Festival Tournament and work on completing the Pokédex for the professor.
