Zelda II: The Adventure of Link is the second installment in the iconic “The Legend of Zelda” series and serves as a direct sequel to the original game. Taking place a few years after Ganon’s defeat and Princess Zelda’s rescue, the game introduces a new chapter in the life of Link, now sixteen years old. The adventure begins when Link notices a mysterious mark on the back of his hand.

Recognizing the mark’s significance, Impa, Princess Zelda’s nurse, reveals a hidden piece of Hyrule’s history to Link. She explains that a third component of the Triforce, the Triforce of Courage, was secreted away in the Great Palace by the former King of Hyrule to protect it from falling into evil hands. The story deepens with the tale of the King’s son, who, after his father’s death, desperately sought the missing Triforce piece. The location of this Triforce, however, was known only to the King’s daughter, Princess Zelda. In a fit of frustration, the Prince enlisted a Magician to extract the truth from Zelda. When she resisted, the Magician cursed her into a deep slumber, a spell that also led to his own demise.
