Robopon 2 Ring (GBA)
“Robopon 2 Ring Version” and “Robopon 2 Cross Version” are sequels in the Robopon video game series, published by Atlus for the Game Boy Advance during 2001-2002. These games continue the adventures of Cody, the protagonist and number one Legend of Porombo Island. Following the events of the first game, Cody sets off to explore new lands and earn new titles but soon finds himself without his Robopon when a storm wrecks his boat and leaves him stranded on the continent of Majiko. Determined to become the Robopon champion of Majiko, Cody’s quest involves collecting unique XStones and challenging the rank-holders of the land. His journey is complicated by the need to resolve issues from both the past and present, requiring him to travel between the world of 20 years ago and the present to set things right.
In terms of gameplay, “Robopon 2” enhances the mechanics of its predecessor. Players can create Robopon by “sparking” different types of batteries, with each combination yielding a unique Robopon. The games introduce four-on-four battles, a significant expansion from the previous game, allowing a player’s entire party of Robopon to engage in battles simultaneously. This system emphasizes strategic elements, such as targeting specific enemies. Additionally, players have the ability to customize the color of their Robopon, adding a personal touch to the gameplay experience. Both versions of the game, while similar, offer unique elements that encourage players to explore and interact with the world of Majiko extensively.
