Heart & Soul Edition

Pokémon Heart & Soul is a fan-made role-playing game that recreates the Johto region using the Game Boy Advance style. It combines features from Pokémon Gold, Silver, Crystal, and HeartGold/SoulSilver into a full adventure while running with Generation 3 mechanics. The game feels classic but also includes modern updates that make exploring, battling, and training more manageable for today’s players.
This version was created to be close to the official mainline Pokémon games, so it doesn’t focus on added challenges or alternative playstyles like randomizers, endless items, or built-in Nuzlocke modes. Instead, it delivers the story and gameplay at a steady pace without unnecessary extras. While carefully tested to limit errors, occasional small bugs may still appear, and players are encouraged to report them so they can be improved.
Because this project uses resources and art from other open-source work, many creators contributed behind the scenes. Credits are listed within the game, though new findings or updates are still welcomed. Some elements from the older Johto titles aren’t included because of how complex they would be to code, but the main experience remains complete.
You can try Pokémon Heart & Soul quickly and for free on kbhgames.com, where it runs directly in the browser with no installation required. This makes it easy for players to jump in and experience Johto in a modernized way without extra setup.
