Mixed Macho Arts: A Two-Button Wrestling Game

Mixed Macho Arts is a chaotic pixel-art wrestling game where players fight to toss their opponent off a raised platform using just two buttons. The mechanics are simple to pick up, but winning a match against a friend or the AI requires actual strategy rather than mindless mashing.

You control a Mexican wrestler with only a couple of keys. Movement, punching, kicking, and grabbing all stem from how you manipulate that limited input—a setup that sounds completely messy. And sometimes it is. Yet behind the frantic flailing, there is a real system of coordination at play. You have to figure out the exact right moment to latch onto your opponent and physically heave them out of the arena.

Fights are set up as a best-of-five series. Secure three round victories to win the chapter. Because forcing an enemy off the stage ends a round immediately, this fighting game can swing from slow, tactical push-and-pulls to sudden eliminations in a matter of seconds.

The 2D pixel-art graphics carry unexpected weight. Striking effects emphasize the impact whenever someone lands a solid hit. Players can practice against the computer in single-player mode to get a feel for the strange physics. Sharing a keyboard with a second player is where the mechanics actually snap into focus. The physics-based grappling turns local matches into merciless brawls.
