Prince Of Persia: The Sands

Description

The Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time for the Nintendo Game Boy Advance (GBA) is a unique adaptation of the popular console game. Released on October 28, 2003, before the main game, this port features gameplay that is distinctively different, focusing primarily on 2D platforming with a Metroidvania-style structure. In this version, players can revisit previous areas after acquiring new skills, which are represented as scrolls, allowing access to new sections of the game.

In the first two of the six total game sections, players have the ability to control Farah, a character who uses her bow to activate switches that the Prince cannot reach, adding a strategic layer to the gameplay. This GBA version also introduces some unique enemies not found in the console versions, enhancing the challenge.

The game includes a collection aspect where players hunt for eight types of medals—Copper, Jade, Olivine, Azurite, Zircon, Spinel, Onyx, and Tagua—each split into three pieces. These pieces can only be collected using the Sands of Time to rewind time as the player passes them. Collecting full medals allows access to certain rooms by lowering bridges, adding both a puzzle-solving and exploration element to the experience.
